Say how the tree comes down
Two removals of the same height can differ by thousands: one drops in an open yard, the other gets rigged piece by piece over a roof. Put the method on the estimate (felled, rigged, or crane). It explains your price against a cheaper bid that didn't account for the house. Clients often arrive with a number from an online calculator; the tree removal cost calculator shows the published ranges they will have seen, and where a rigged removal sits in them.
What's left behind
- Wood: hauled away, left in rounds, or split.
- Stump: ground, and how deep. Grinding 6 to 8 inches below grade is enough for grass. Planting another tree needs more.
- Cleanup: chips hauled or left as mulch.
Permits and credentials
Many cities protect trees over a certain trunk size, or certain species, and require a permit to remove them. Say who gets it. If you are an ISA Certified Arborist, put your certification number on the estimate, and be ready to send a certificate of insurance. Tree work is where clients ask for it most.
Questions tree service pros ask
How do tree services price removals?
By the tree's size, how it has to come down (open drop, rigging or crane), what's under it, and what's left behind: wood, stump and debris.
Is stump grinding included in tree removal?
Often not. List it as its own line with the diameter and depth, so the client can choose.
Missing a line you always need? Email support@vanreceipts.app and we will add it to the template.
