VanReceipts ("the app", "we", "us") helps tradespeople turn receipts into a running profit-and-loss picture. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data lives on your device by default, we do not track you, and we do not sell your data.
Receipts, expenses, projects, clients, logged time, and your settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database. Receipt text is read using Apple's on-device text recognition. None of this is sent to us to provide the core app.
If you enable iCloud sync (a paid feature), your data is synced through your own private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. It is stored in your personal iCloud container, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot read the contents of your iCloud data.
The app can optionally send a receipt image to our processing service to extract individual line items with higher accuracy. This is off by default and only happens for receipts you scan while the feature is enabled in Settings. When enabled:
If you never turn this feature on, no receipt data leaves your device through it.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. We do not receive or store your payment card details. RevenueCat receives a purchase identifier to manage your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
On-device data is removed when you delete the app. iCloud data is removed through your iCloud settings. To request deletion of any optional feedback data you submitted, contact us at the address below.
VanReceipts is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
