Why there is a free plan at all.
Because you should not have to pay to find out whether the thing works on your receipts.
Plenty of apps in this category give you a two week trial and a card form on day one. That is fine for software you already trust. It is a bad deal for a tradesperson who has been burned by an app that could not read a thermal receipt from a supply house.
So the free plan is a real plan, not a demo. Ten scans a week is enough to run a normal week of jobs. If VanReceipts turns out to be wrong for you, you have lost nothing but the download.
Pro is for the point where the app has already proved itself and you want the year, the crew, and the sync. Not before.

Is VanReceipts really free?+
Yes. The free plan is not a countdown. You can run jobs, scan up to 10 receipts a week, log mileage, send estimates and invoices, and see this month's profit without paying anything and without entering a card.
How much is Pro?+
$14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. The annual plan works out at $8.33 a month, a saving of 44% against monthly. Both start with a 7 day free trial.
What happens when the free trial ends?+
The trial runs 7 days. VanReceipts reminds you inside the app on day 5, before you are charged, so the bill is never a surprise. If you cancel you drop back to the free plan and keep your data.
How do I cancel?+
In your iPhone settings, the same way as any App Store subscription: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, VanReceipts, Cancel. No email to us, no waiting on a reply, no retention call.
Do I lose my jobs and receipts if I stop paying?+
No. Your jobs, receipts, invoices and exports stay on your device. You go back to the free plan limits, which are 10 scans a week and profit for the current month.
Is there a per user charge for my crew?+
No. Crew labor is part of Pro at the same price. You add your crew and their hourly rates, then assign them to jobs, estimates and invoices. Their cost lands in the job's job costing figure.
What does cloud itemization actually send?+
Only when you turn it on, and only for the receipt image you are scanning. Every receipt is read on your device first. Cloud AI itemization is the fallback for faded or crumpled slips, it is a Pro feature, and you can switch it off in Settings at any time. Here is how on device and cloud reading differ.
Is there an Android version or a web app?+
Not today. VanReceipts is an iPhone app. The free tools on this site, including the invoice generator and the job profit calculator, work in any browser on any phone.
