A plumbing quote for a toilet we supply
A plumbing quote template is a fixed price for the fixture on the sheet, sent before the work. The one loaded above is a comfort-height toilet we supply. Before tax it is $480: the toilet $280, remove and reset $160, and a supply stop and wax ring $40.
Flange repair and a new supply from the wall are outside the $480. There is no deposit. The offer holds 30 days, through the date on the sheet. The dollar amounts are round samples so the addition can be checked. They are not a price for the work.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Comfort-height toilet, we supply | $280 |
| Remove and reset | $160 |
| Supply stop and wax ring | $40 |
| Quote before tax | $480 |
Acceptance is the signature line, or a written reply that names this quote. After the date on the sheet, $480 is no longer the offer.
A tank where a leak would cause damage
The tank button is $1,875, and the offer holds 14 days because the tank price moves. Sample model NW-50G is $980. Set and connect is $520. A drain pan and a 3/4 inch pan drain are $140. An expansion tank is $90. Hauling the old tank is $60. The permit, as a pass-through, is $85. There is no trip charge. This is not a service call.
The pan is on this quote because the tank sits in an interior closet. The 2024 International Residential Code (IRC), as UpCodes publishes it for Texas, section P2801.5, says that where a storage tank-type water heater is installed in a location where water leakage from the tank will cause damage, the tank shall be installed in a pan (read October 15, 2026). Section P2801.5.1 says the pan shall be not less than 1 1/2 inches deep and shall be drained by an indirect waste pipe of not less than 3/4 inch diameter. The same section says that where a pan drain was not previously installed, a pan drain shall not be required for a replacement. This sample includes the drain. A replacement that omits a drain that was never there, or a garage the adopted code treats differently, is a different quote. ICC's water heater note covers the relief-valve discharge rules at IRC P2804.6.1, including discharge to the pan (read October 15, 2026). This page is not legal advice.
A laundry box and a hose bib
The laundry box is $400: the box $220 and a tie-in to a standpipe that is already there $180. Drywall repair is outside it. The hose bib is $165: a frost-free bib $95 and an interior shutoff $70. The wall is already open. Wall repair is outside it.
A bathroom rough-in that relocates the shower drain, and assumes access from below, is the plumbing estimate template. A faucet and a disposal are the quote template. A 50 gallon tank billed after the job, with a trip charge, is the plumbing invoice template.
Where a home-improvement deposit rule applies
No deposit is written on the toilet sheet. In California, Business and Professions Code section 7159 (or read it on California Public Law) says a home improvement contract and any changes to the contract shall be in writing and signed by the parties before the commencement of work covered by the contract or an applicable change order. For this section, that contract is an agreement whose aggregate price, including labor, services, and materials, exceeds $500 (read October 15, 2026). Section 7159.5 (or read it on California Public Law) says that if a down payment will be charged, it shall not exceed $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract amount, whichever amount is less. A contractor who furnishes a performance and payment bond, a lien and completion bond, or a bond equivalent or joint control the registrar approves, covering full performance and payment, is exempt from that cap. Ten percent of this toilet sample's $480 is $48, so $48 is the smaller number. Other states write their own rules. This page is not legal advice. The same sections, worked on a kitchen sample, are on the construction quote template. More forms are on the templates page.

Questions plumbers ask
What is a plumbing quote template?+
A plumbing quote template is a fixed price for a job you name, with a date the offer ends and a line for the client to accept it. The toilet on this page is $480 before tax, and we supply it. Flange repair is not in that price. The dollars are samples so the math can be checked, not a price for the work.
What should a plumbing quote include?+
The fixture, who supplies it, what is left out, how long the offer holds, and a place for acceptance. The toilet sheet holds 30 days and has no deposit. The water heater sheet holds 14 days, because the tank price moves, and it has no trip charge.
When does a water heater quote need a pan?+
Under the 2024 International Residential Code (IRC), as UpCodes publishes it for Texas, section P2801.5, a storage tank in a location where leakage will cause damage is installed in a pan. P2801.5.1 says the pan is not less than 1 1/2 inches deep and is drained by an indirect waste of not less than 3/4 inch, and that a pan drain is not required on a replacement where none was installed before (read October 15, 2026). This closet sample includes the pan and the drain. This is not legal advice.
Can I download a plumbing quote template as Word or Excel?+
Yes. The quote you fill in downloads as a PDF in three designs, and as a Word file and an Excel file.
