List every event with its date
Per-push billing only works if the client can match the pushes to storms they remember. Put each date in the notes, and mark storms that needed two pushes. Keep your own log with the time and snow depth for each visit too. If someone slips on a walk you serviced, that log is what you will be asked for.
Per push, per event, or seasonal
- Per push: the client pays for each visit. Fair in light winters, expensive in heavy ones.
- Per event: one price per storm, however many pushes.
- Seasonal: a fixed price for the winter, often with a cap on events. Steady income for you, a known cost for the client.
Whatever the contract says, the invoice should use the same unit, and state the trigger depth that starts service.
Questions snow removal contractors ask
How do you invoice snow removal?
Monthly, listing each service date and what was done (plow, shovel, salt), in the same unit as the contract: per push, per event or seasonal.
Should ice melt be billed separately?
Usually yes, per bag or per application. Usage swings a lot between winters, and a separate line keeps your base price steady.
