What a concrete slab costs in 2026
Slabs are priced by the square foot installed, including forms, concrete, reinforcement, placing and finishing:
| Slab | HomeGuide | Fixr |
|---|---|---|
| Standard slab | $6 to $12 per sq ft (basic jobs from $4) | $4 to $14 per sq ft |
| Stamped | $8 to $19 per sq ft, including the pour | |
| 30 x 30 ft slab | $5,400 to $10,800 | |
| Removing an old slab | $600 to $1,000 |
The calculator uses $4 to $14 per sq ft for a standard slab, the wider of the two guides, and HomeGuide's $8 to $19 for stamped.
How much concrete to order
Multiply the length and width by the thickness in feet, then divide by 27 for cubic yards. A 20 x 24 ft slab 4 inches thick is 160 cubic feet, or 5.93 yards. Order about 10 percent more for uneven ground and spillage, rounded up to the quarter yard: 6.75 yards. Going from 4 to 6 inches adds half again to the concrete.
The extras
| Extra | Typical price | Source |

Pricing a slab as a concrete contractor
Take that 20 x 24 ft, 4 inch slab with a broom finish and wire mesh:
| Line | How it's figured | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Concrete | 6.5 yards at $165 a yard from the supplier | $1,072.50 |
| Mesh, forms, stakes | For 480 sq ft | $350.00 |
| Labor | 4 people for 8 hours at $45 an hour, fully burdened | $1,440.00 |
| Cost | $2,862.50 | |
| Price at a 20% margin | $2,862.50 divided by 0.8 | $3,578.13, about $7.45 per sq ft |
That is inside both guides' ranges. Ready-mix prices move with your supplier, which is why the concrete estimate template is valid for 14 days, not 30. If access means a pump, put it on its own line.

How this calculator works
The price range for the size of the job comes from the published guides below, from the lowest low to the highest high where they differ. Where your job lands inside that range is our method: each answer that makes the work harder or slower moves it toward the top, and each that makes it easier moves it down. Extras use each guide's published price for that item, and the likely price uses the middle of the extra's range.
